Our journey

2013
  • Incorporation of HLL Academy to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
  • First International Training Programme (ITP) on Procurement Management in Healthcare Sector held in partnership with MoHFW & The World Bank.
  • Participants from Afghanistan, Nigeria, Nepal and Indian states attended ITP.
2014
  • Launch of the first ‘Think Tank Executive Lecture Series’.
2015
  • Inauguration of HLL Management Academy on 3rd July.
  • Establishment of Training, Recruitment and Skill Development divisions.
  • Hosted the first Leadership Development Workshop.
  • Launch of the online Professional Diploma in Public Procurement (PDPP) in collaboration with the World Bank.
2016
  • Conducted the first written test for Worker Trainee posts under the TSDP scheme.
  • Collaboration with IL&FS Skills Development Corporation.
2017
  • Affiliation obtained from Health and Rubber Sector Skill Councils.
  • Launched the first General Duty Assistant Course.
  • Organized the first Children's Program for HLL employees.
  • HMA tookup the community project, ‘My City’. It is a community cleaning activity in Kowdiar Ward, Thiruvananthapuram.
2018
  • Established the Social Development Projects (SDP) Division.
  • Project Thinkal – Menstrual Health Management initiative (Menstrual Cup project) started in Alappuzha municipality (flood relief for 5,000 beneficiaries).
  • Started first batches of:
  • Lab Chemist Course
  • Junior Rubber Technician
  • Material Handling & Storage Operator
  • Partnered with IL&FS Skills in the launch of Emergency Medical Technician Course.
2019
  • Project Thinkal expanded to Kochi Corporation.
  • Conducted the first Residential Training Program for Kerala PSU managers.
  • Partnered with IL&FS Skills in the launch of Japanese language training program under the TITP initiative.
2020
  • Conducted the first contact class for PDPP students.
2021
  • Launched Healthcare Awareness Sessions for school children in Trivandrum & Wayanad.
  • Project Thinkal expanded across Kerala.
  • Started government project implementation across Kerala LSGBs.
  • Launched Institutional Model M-Cup projects in Trivandrum, Kollam & Ernakulam.
2022
  • The Kerala Government issued circular for the purchase of M-Cup from HLL without tender. M-Cup project was included in the 14th five year plan.
  • Launched consultancy projects to increase availability of menstrual hygiene products.
  • Expanded M-Cup model and government-ordered projects across Kerala.
  • Project Thinkal extended outside Kerala. Started the first outside Kerala M-Cup project at Jharkhand.
  • Launched the first anaemia diagnosis and behaviour change program at the aspirational district of Wayanad.
2023
  • Extended anaemia diagnosis and behaviour change program to Ernakulam.
  • Launched Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign in Ernakulam.
  • Project Thinkal extended to the other states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat.
  • Conducted first external recruitment for a public sector enterprise.
  • Involvement of private funding agencies in project expansion.
2024
  • Life Skills Education program initiated for tribal adolescents in Wayanad.
  • Implemented Green Protocol in all operations (Training, Internship, Recruitment).
  • Project Thinkal launched in Lakshadweep (first in a Union Territory).
2025
  • Launched Structured Internship Programme for Co-operative Arts and Science College, Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Project Thinkal expanded to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
